The National Advocacy Service and the Patient Advocacy Service are two brands with a very meaningful purpose. The National Advocacy Service (NAS) provides a free and independent representative advocacy service to adults with disabilities. NAS also provides the Patient Advocacy Service (PAS) – a free, and independent advocacy service for patients of HSE Public Acute Hospitals and HSE Nursing Homes.
Our challenge was to effectively convey the core principles of these two intertwined yet separate services in their annual reports while prioritizing accessibility in design. Building upon the established branding, we refined and extended a relatable illustration style to establish a deeper connection with the audience. This inclusive illustrative approach was complemented by the adoption of an engaging colour palette, welcoming textures, and clean typography. The result was a design that offered a straightforward and easily comprehensible message, highlighting the dedication of both services to assist people in a meaningful and practical manner while ensuring accessibility was at its core.
